Food at the Firepit

We will be building a bonfire in our firepit and working together to prepare and cook a delicious, nutritious soup using fresh garden produce in our cast iron Dutch oven. As it cooks we will enjoy some live music – drums, guitar and singing! There will be plenty of instruments to hand for anyone who would like to join in. Don’t worry if it is rainy as, if that is the case, we will cook inside and enjoy the music from the comfort of the yurt or workshop, next to the cosy warmth of the log burner.

Animal Encounter

From 12-1pm on Wednesday 12th July, we will be holding an Animal Encounter session here at the CMG. SweetTree Farming For All, who will be running the session and bringing the animals, are passionate about the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors and interactions with animals. It has long been documented that spending time with animals can relieve stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental wellbeing issues.

We will have lots of different animals for service users to interact with: goats, sheep, rabbits, as well as our very own hens. It will be a fun, relaxed session and it would be great if staff members are able to accompany service users here for the hour. We are extremely fortunate to have this one-off session opportunity which has been funded by Watford Borough Council.
