New Hope recommends going along to one of the local job clubs, such as the one New Hope's Tenancy Sustainment Team runs at the Haven Support Centre between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesday mornings.

Life Skills Awards and Certificates
The life skills qualification helps you to organise your home and family, as well as understand the world of work. The course covers subjects like: managing your own money, healthy living, working as part of a group and community action.
Job Seeking and Employability Skills Awards and Certificates
These courses will help you prepare for finding a job, keeping a job and feeling confident in interviews. You’ll learn how to: search for a job effectively, fill in application forms, write a great CV and covering letter, be more confident in an interview, give a presentation and work in a team.
Learn Direct also run basic occupational skills courses to help you decide what kind of industry you would like to work in. You could cover: an introduction to retail, working in business and administration, meeting customers’ expectations and working in health and social care.
How will I learn?
You will need to enrol for your qualification through a Learn Direct centre – this means that you will receive face-to-face support from friendly staff. You can continue to work anywhere you have an internet connection. During your learning you will have regular progress reviews to make sure you’re on track.
How long will it take?
It depends on your needs and circumstances. Before you start, Learn Direct will agree with you a target end date so you know what you’re working towards.
